Forward Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage wanted to investigate ways in which the contribution of natural heritage activity to sustainable rural development could be increased.  

To do this they decided to review training and recruitment issues for natural heritage businesses.  The exercise produced a clear guide to entry routes, career paths and skills requirements within the sector, considering both the existing skills set and skills required in the future.
